NASA TOPS Opportunity

What is TOPS?

In celebration of the Year of Open Science, NASA and the White House have launched the Transform to Open Science training (TOPSt) initiative! With a mission to make science more accessible, transparent, and reproducible, NASA has awarded Don’t Use This Code a grant to train 20,000 researchers and scientists.

What is a Virtual Cohort?

Participants in these trainings will be part of a “Virtual Cohort,” where they’ll engage in interactive, instructor-led discussions and exercises. This format is designed to help you apply the principles of Open Science to your work and research.

Why Join?

By participating in the training, you’ll gain:

  • Exclusive Lessons from industry-leading experts
  • Networking Opportunities with like-minded researchers from diverse disciplines.
  • Practical Skills for tools like Git/GitHub, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Zenodo, and more
  • Guidance on making research more accessible, transparent, and reproducible
  • Expert Tips for drafting an Open Science and Data Management plan

You’ll also receive a NASA Open Science digital badge through Credly, perfect for showcasing on LinkedIn, ORCID, GitHub, and other digital platforms.
